Bringing the Gospel to Orphans in Ukraine
Here are a few of the ways that Legacy Refuge impacts orphans in Ukraine…
Summer Camps
For many children living in first-world countries, going to a camp in the summer is an experience that they have probably had many times over. However, the orphans in Ukraine that Legacy Refuge works with have never experienced anything like this.
During the summer in Ukraine, Legacy Refuge often hosts camps for these children, having fun with them and teaching them about God along the way. These children often come back completely changed and it has been an amazing part of their ministry.
Hosting
As Justin and Alaya’s journey with orphan care started with a simple hosting trip, they have a huge heart and appreciation for the power of just hosting an orphan in your own home. As these children are hosted by loving families, they get a taste of true love and care, and their eyes are opened to the hope that exists outside of their situation.
Hosting trips also open hosts’ hearts to the possibility of adoption and they have seen many
children find their forever homes as a result of hosting.

Filtered Hope
Filtered Hope is a summer training camp that Legacy Refuge has put together for aged-out orphans who can no longer stay in the orphan system in Ukraine. They bring these aged-out orphans together and train them to be coffee baristas while giving them classes in things like habit formation, business, and the Bible. This is all to equip them and enable them to get jobs that will support them and give them a newfound hope for the future. They have also partnered with local coffee shops that have given a few of the new baristas paying jobs.
